El Fotonario: interactive photonics in Spanish

I’m happy to share El Fotonario, a project I’ve been building to make photonics accessible in Spanish.

It’s an interactive educational platform covering optics from the ground up: electromagnetic foundations, Fourier optics, fiber optics, lasers, integrated photonics, and plasmonics. It includes 9 modular courses, 145 exercises with feedback, 78 interactive visualizations, and a 458-term glossary.

Why?

Most quality resources in photonics are in English. That’s fine for researchers, but it creates a barrier for undergraduate students and professionals across Latin America and Spain who would benefit from learning these concepts in their native language. The goal is simple: remove that barrier.

What’s next
